I tried to get ID for this fly on Back Garden Moths site but didnt get anywhere. Linda Buckell was the one worumho pointed me in the direction of this forum, so hopefully I will get a definitive answer.

Tachina sp. ? It is a tachinid 100% sure. Wink

Well, I agree - unless it is a Nowickia ... hard to say - do you have a bigger photo? Smile

I have checked images I found on the net for nowickia (ferox) and I must say it does look almost identical. Unfortunately i didnt get any other pics of it.
