Hello to all! These flies (2 individuals, but seem to be from the same species) were about 14±2mm big and seem to me like being between Tabanidae and Rhagionidae. Who (Theo?) can give a name to them? Am I totally wrong when I put them into the corner of Athericidae? 14 June 2009, Austria, Tyrol, around Aschinger Alm (Zahmer Kaiser), approx. 1000 and 1200m asl Best greetings Rupert Rupert Huber attached the following image: [104.83Kb] |

Coenomyia ferruginea, Coenomyiidae (or Xylophagidae).
