Hello,

is this fly a Notiphila sp.? I found it beginning of June near the river Mosel. Length was about 6mm.

all these flies from different families are very similar for me. How can you dinstinguish them?

How can you distinguish them? A good question. Just get a lot of experience (which I obviously still lackFrown) by identifying material upto family level with the key of Pjotr Oostenbroek.
