Hello,

this asilidae is from beginning of June from a small forest near Cologne. Length was about 2cm. The photo was made a bit lighter. Can be said, what species or genus it is?

Thanks,
Michael

Thank you. What part of it must be seen to get the species?

None. Females cannot be identified with the mean of an image.

Thank you again, Danny. I asked because I have another photo from above. Never mind - it will stay Neoitamus sp.

Greetings,
Michael

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
