Today I saw some specimens of a Sphaerophoria that reminds me of S. rueppelli. It's the first time I saw this beautiful fly . Is it possible to be sure it's S. ruepelli?location: Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal date: 30/06/2009 ![]() ![]() The next photos are only for comparing this species to male S. scripta: ![]() Here the side of the thorax showing us the yellow band, that is interrupted in the fly that I saw today :![]() |

S. rueppelli is the only one (at least recorded at Fauna Iberica) with that short yellow band ![]() |
