Hi,
a large fly, app 4cm long. It captured a insect and was feeding on it. Pictured in Tanzania.

Can anybody please id the fly and the prey?

This very nice photo of a neat robber fly shows a species of Pegesimallus (can't go further without seeing the specimen).
