I assume this is a Sepsid (if not please tell me), same size, shape and behaviour. Not one I've noticed before, any ideas? Apologies for the shocking photos - low light, they wouldn't keep still so high ISO, long exposure - still, I hope someone will recognize them. 20/6/2009; Devon, England. Yes indeed Opomyzidae like Nikita let you know. However, this is not Geomyza tripunctata. It is either G. balachowskyi or G. hackmani. I think it is the latter, but I can't say it with certainty. If you have collected the specimen I can identify it for you if you like.

Thanks for your help with this one, Jan. It is kind of you to offer to identify it, but unfortunately I did not collect a specimen. Tim |
