Same site as my previous Thelaira (if this is indeed Thelaira). Slightly fresher individual, slightly better photos, though I'm not sure it helps much. 20/6/2009; Devon, England. Tim tim worfolk attached the following image: ![]() [121.61Kb] |

Yes, looks like Thelaira nigripes again - long gangly legs, big eyes ... should also have a plumose arista but I can't quite make it out in the photos ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |

Thanks Chris, I can't clearly see the plumose arista in any of my original shots either - need to get a little closer. Here's another angle - rotten exposure due to the sun appearing - but it shows the mid tibia (on the far side) from a different angle. Tim tim worfolk attached the following image: ![]() [124.3Kb] |

Yeah, a couple of ad bristles suggests T.nigripes. I find them quite commonly around here, along the banks of a local river, sitting out on the foliage ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |
