Hi,
In the Berlin woods I saw this big Muscid. The brown scutellum made me think of Muscina, but the wing venation does not match. So is this a Phaonia again, or am I entirely wrong?
Help is greatly appreciated, Sundew

You are not wrong, this is a female Phaonia valida.
Stephane.
