My guess would just be Actia sp. ... possibly crassicornis or pilipennis but I'd need a specimen to be sure - or at least a good lateral shot ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |

Thanks Chris (I'll edit thread title to reflect the uncertainty). Unfortunately this was the only shot I got, I couldn't get close and there was no chance of a lower angle. It was at a spot I visit regularly so there's a good chance it'll present itself again. Tim |
