I am advised that the prey in the attached may be a Sciarid. I know it is not very clear, but can anyone help me further ? Thanks, Mick.

Hi Mick, though the prey somewhat resembling a fungus gnat I think it is a member of Ptychopteridae. Where was the picture taken? so long, xylo |

ps. there were plenty of Ptychoptera contaminata (type) around, so that is a good shout if the antennae look right. M. |

Well, the antennae fit well. Especially, the whorled setae on it. Male Ptychopterids have a longer antenna. so long, xylo |
