Phantom midge?

I think that this is an Achaoborid (Phantom midge). Can anyone please confirm, and/or give me a more specific identification?

The insect was photographed on a nettle leaf (veination gives idea of scale) at a location near the edge of an inland freshwater lake in Southern England at the beginning of May.

Yes, Chaoboridae. Seems to be male.

It is a Chaborus sp, but a female.

Did you mean Chaoborus sp.? or is that the same thing?
