When I go to www.eol.org and search for Anthrax binotatus the result is Anthrax angustipennis.

Do you confirm that?

no, angustatus is a neotropical species, the synonym you found is binotata Macquart.

your fly is Anthrax binotatus Wiedemann (this nicely illustrates the importance of including authority in a name which i omitted because this species has been posted several times before and there are two in gallery, one from you!Wink)
