This nice fly turnet to be one of my best founds last season. Macquardia viridana is the name det by Theo. I'm happy to tell that this was new species to Finland Grin

What a find! Tschorsnig & Herting give this species a faunistic remark: "Europa bis Sudengland".

And while England is about as far from us southern Finnish collectors as Greece (using the straightest airline), this may really be called a surprise!

Yes and no.


Note that summers are relatively hot in Finland, and therefore some southern species occur surprisingly far north, once you hit east.
For instance: Peleteria ruficornis from Finland last year was by far a bigger surprise.

But still, it is a great find !
