Hello!

A 9 mm Empididae with rather broad wings. From a hedge (northwest Germany). Also Rhamphomyia?

Dark, broad wings and relatively big. I don't know any Rhamphomyia currently about fitting this one. However, it appears there are forks in vein R4+5 with the anterior branch rather vague. That would fit with Empis borealis...

Thanks! I did not see the Empis fork, so I thought it must be Rhamphomyia. Also because I knew R. marginata with even broader wings.
Best regards,
Jürgen

There are some Rhamphomyia with similar broadening of the wing, but these species are much smaller.
