Mosquito or cranefly ?

This is not my picture but was taken in Trinidad as a picture of a "large mosquito". I'm using it with permission of the owner just for ID purposes. Tipuloidea, possibly Limoniidae. There are snouty Limoniids even in Europe. In Japan I found Elephantomyia, which has an extremely long proboscis (photos in my Japan gallery).
