Hello, I know that the photo is really not good. But perhaps it is possible to identify the family? There were a lot of those ~3mm long flies two or three weeks ago in the compost in my garden near Cologne. Thanks, Michael Michael Becker attached the following image: ![]() [9.46Kb] Edited by Michael Becker on 21-03-2009 07:01 |

Hello, Michael! Michael Becker wrote: There were a lot of those ~3mm long flies two or three weeks ago in the compost in my garden near Cologne. I would bet it's Scaptomyza (Drosophilidae) again... http://www.dipter...d_id=20254 Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

I would bet it's Scaptomyza (Drosophilidae) again... http://www.dipter...d_id=20254 Hello Jürgen, I wouldn't bet against you. I also looked at the Drosophilidae, because the flies were very interested in kitchen garbage. But somehow I overlooked Scaptomyza. Thank you for your answer, Michael |
