Walking through some long grass and this striped critter buzzed away from my leg and landed on a grass stalk a few feet away. From a distance at first I thought it was a blue banded bee but when I got close, gee whizz, I've never seen anything like this before was my first thought. Any help appreciated.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
