Hello, My first black Anthomyiidae in 2009. 2009/2/15, Paris (France), 7-8 mm. Somebody suggested Delia (male) on our French forum. Do you agree or disagree ? Is a specific identification possible ? Thanks in advance. pierred attached the following image: ![]() [120.15Kb] Edited by pierred on 22-02-2009 07:20 Pierre Duhem |

I can't see enough details to place it in any genus I am afraid. There is nothing to say that it is not a Delia. Looks a bit like Delia radicum, but the bristles on the hind femur are not right. It's a very early date, and one would expect an Egle species but the mouth margin does not seem to be projecting. How many posterior dorsocentral setae can you see? Egle ciliate should have 4. |
