Is this Camarota curvipennis or a different species? Does not look like C. curvipennis, neither any Stegana sp I know.

OK, one may safely discard Camarota (in this post). Arista is plumose, too many bristles on the fly. So Stegana sp after all?

I see Papp's key of Stegana, but I get nowhere as it does not describe the coloration of the species.

Head appears to be higher than long: S. furta.

I have a drawing of S. furta, which shows all-light legs. But the drawing shows a female. Here, the second and third femora are distinctly brownish, which contradicts the picture in Papp's Fauna Hungariae book. Do you know whether the dark f2, f3 is ok for furta?

In my key the head needs to be twice as high as long for Stegana (Stegana). This is difficult to assess.

So this is Stegana (Stegana) sp. Probably furta, as this is supposed to be the only sp. in Europe in this subgenus. The leg color discrepancy is still there.
