Hi,
Here comes a Tachinid from last September. Could it be Voria ruralis? It has the peculiar erect bristles on the scutellum.
Thanks for help, Sundew

Many thanks, Gabor. Are those scutellar bristles (combined with habit and white face) a safe charakter to identify the species?

Well I recognize this species based on the combination of three characters. First the wing venation is rather typical. Second, the presutural thoracical patterns shows four lines. Ant third, there are three pairs of very strong bristles on the occiput and face pointing to the back.

The parafacial also has a strong down-curved bristle Smile On the wing the strongly angled m-cu vein is characteristic of the tribe but I always have to check my keys to eliminate Athrycia Smile

Athrycia has discal setae on tergites, Voria does not.

Easy.
