Thanks Joke, but... Anthomyiidae was one of the families I first ruled out and for a number of reasons. This one looks too robust and broad-headed for an Anthomyiid, wrong colour of frons and eyes seem too small etc. But most importantly: anal vein does not reach wing margin. Anthomyiidae come in many different shapes, sizes and colours - I wouldn't discount this as an anthomyiid on any of the characters you mention - even the anal vein character - sometimes the anal vein becomes very faint before the wing margin, and it stops short of the wing margin in some species. I think I'm right in saying that the large number of bristles on the hind leg suggest Anthomyiidae - it has crossed bristles on the frons as well.
