Hello,

this fly, whose length I estimated 9mm, is from July from about 2000m height in the austrian alps.

My guess would be a Callicera species because of the long antennae. Is this correct? Can perhaps something be said about the species?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello,

I think that, in the genus Callicera, the arista is at the end of the third segment. I would bet on a Microdon.

Hello Pierre, hello Roger,

yes you are right. I will label the pictures as Microdon sp.. Are there other species than Microdon devius here in middle europe?

Thanks,
Michael

Hello,

According to Fauna europaea, four species are present in Germany, M. analis, M. devius, M. miki and M. mutabilis.
