Hi

* locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL
* date - 2009.01.17
* size - 8-9 mm (medium fly)
* habitat - farmland
* substrate - on leaf of Citrus lemon


This is a Phaonia sp.

My answer has flown away, not like this fly. I had proposed Helina evecta / annosa, because of the 2+2 katepisternal setae and because I could guess some small hairs under post. spiracle. If no "Phaonia bristle" and crossveins darkened, it would confirm this...

crossveins are clearly darkened, that's why I told this is a Phaonia. I saw that Phaonia bristle. I only can take photos soon.
But if this is really a Phaonia sp. which would be? Wink

As far as I know, Phaonia haven't two strong anterior katepisternal setae, so Helina is still my guess...

hmm... yeah. You have reason. Really they are very conspicuous. And there are 2 posterior katapisternal bristles. No bristles in meron. Sad It would be nice to have Egynia. Grin
