This wasn't taken by me but was on our local website as unknown fly...just wondered if anyone can put a name to it...Photo by C. Hughson.

Hi Roger, Perhaps I now can return some of your favours  This looks like Calobata petronella Family Micropezidae But, as you know, better wait for comfirmation or correction from experts.  |

Thanks for that Lars, it does seem to match up to the photo in the Gallery, down to the brown patch with black surround on the (shoulder of ?) Thorax. Excuse my terminology  . It probably has a correct name.Regards Roger. I was going to suggest Heleomyzidae Tephrochlamys rufiventris, glad I didn't. |
