Hi, this unusually looking Limoniid was found in a forest, sitting on some mud that was left by a brook that had dried out temporarly. Quite little, around 1 cm long (body). Found in mid-August, NE Hungary.

Are you sure it was so large? If it was smaller, I'd look into Molophilus first.

Well, it may have been smaller. The only Molophilus specimens I've yet seen were M. cf ater, this one is a bit bigger than those. Molophilus seems to fit for this |
