Do I see a Siphona-proboscis ? It seems so. In which case it must be Siphona, but it doesn't look like one, or something extreme like Ancistrophora miki. Need to ponder on this one. Theo |

Darn ... I missed it and was fooled into thinking it was much bigger Siphona looks fine to me .. well, as "fine" as a Siphona looks at any time |

I have only this view. The fly was on Achillea millefolium, diameter of the flowers ca. 6mm Urs |

It is very dark for SIphona, maybe tricky light, in any case, you can see the crossed subapicals of the scutellum, so it must be Siphona. Theo |
