Hi

I believe this to be a fly but am not realy sure as it appears very hairy. It was approximately 3mm may be 4mm no bigger and seen on Alliaria petiolata (Garlic Mustard) in my Garden in Southern England Can anyone help towards and Id ?

This is Diptera: fam. Psychodidae (maybe Psychoda sp., but surely subfam. Psychodinae)

Many thanks for your replies and the suggestions, having checked both on the internet, I think it is Psychodidae I will have to do further reading to see if I can get any closer to a species.
