Hi, I'm no expert, far from it, but could this rather small fly (~4-5mm) be a Delia platura? On grass (as I recall) at the edge of the forest 13 June 2008 (Helsingborg, Sweden) Thanks! lagura attached the following image: [76.58Kb] |

Delia platura Meigen, male. Note pv fringe on whole length of hind tibia, this character shared with Delia florilega (also quite common), the latter species also has a dorsal fringe on middle metatarsus, whiich I can't see in the photo as it is out of focus. |
