Hi Black.
Wellcome in "Club of Cluisiidae photografers" (there was 2 other members - Ben Hamers and me).
Clusiodes pictipes or Clusiodes apicalis.

Dear Clusidae enthusiasts - nice to see these photographs of this interesting group of saproxylic Diptera - I have often bred C. apicalis from decaying birch logs - the larvae and puparia are deep in the soft wood - but so far have not come across C. pictipes

Nikita, Iain: many thanks for your comments. Now I think I could have guessed the family checking the recent posts if I paid more attention...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
