Think this is a fungus gnat - Sciaridae- possibly Sceptonia sp. ?
Taken a few days ago sitting on my car South Coast UK about 2.2mm body length.

Sceptonia is indeed Mycetophilidae. This specimen is also Mycetophilidae but not Sceptonia. I'd say something like Allodia or Brachycampta.
