Hi all,

In the last weeks I almost see everyday these mosquitos. I've never
seen them before here.

Location : Northern Germany, near the border to denmark.
Weather for the last weeks : It's raining almost every day, temperatures
about 10 to 14°C , much too warm for autumn in Northern Germany.

This one took my blood, and now I'm a little bit afraid of illness.

Can you help me identifying it. And is this one common for Northern Germany ?

Thanks,
Gerd Rossen

Hi Gerd - difficult to be sure, but I think this is Culiseta annulata - one of the common species that regularly bites humans. As a rule, there's no need to worrry about illness from mosquito bites in Northern Europe. Wink
