Sphaeroceridae from Hungary

Hi! I found this Sphaeroceridae in Debrecen, Hungary, in spring (April, 2008). The abdomen looks really odd to me. Maybe a female after ovipositing? It was already dying when i found it. Thanks for any help! Walter pwalter attached the following image: ![]() [111.15Kb] |

Photo quite bad... I observed the abdomen with microscope (no photos ) and found the genitals intact, so I guess the abdomen isn't just torn away, but is really this small.

Sphaerocera sp. Possibly it did not hatch properly.
