hello flyforum,

I think this is Neria Cibaria, but it is not black on the end of the abdomen.
Maiby that's different between male/female?

The second fly is Lonchopteridae?

greeting robert,

Neria cibaria seems to be correct, and it is indeed a male (the other one recently was female).

The second one I think is Neurogona quadrifasciata of the Dolichopodidae.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
