Hello!

This Calliphorid from yesterday evening at the light (northwest Germany) was only 5-6 mm long. Very small Calliphora vicina or maybe other genus?

Therefore I posted it despite of the bad quality Wink.

Thanks! What irritated me additional to the small size (I know that can vary largely), was the relatively "unsharp" bend in the M-vein (especially seen on the first pic). The fly on the picture below was not only double the size, but also the bend seems to me more sharp.

For a Tachinologist, the bend is sharp.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
