Hello, I found this fly beginning of october in a forest region near Cologne. A Scatophagidae perhaps? What fly is it? (Length about 7-8mm) Thanks, Michael Michael Becker attached the following image: ![]() [25.68Kb] Edited by Michael Becker on 06-11-2008 19:12 |

Hello, Michael! Michael Becker wrote: What fly is it? (Length about 7-8mm) Uhhh... The biggest Lonchoptera I know (and they are numerous at the light every night) are between 3 and 4 mm (mostly less)! http://insektenfo...adid=20562 Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Perhaps I overestimated the size. But 3mm? I think it was at least 4-5mm, probably somewhat bigger. Michael |

(I must admit I also tend to measure with wings, but without my Lonchoptera would be only 2-2.5 mm). Yes, you are right. I again forgot to omit the wings. So maybe the size fits to the usual Lonchoptera specimens. Michael |
