Hello! A 6 mm fly from yesterday afternoon on a meadow (northwest Germany). I think it's a female Anthomyiidae. Could it be Hylemya sp.? I can just see the plumose arista in the last photo, so I would guess Hylemya vagans (tibiae orange). The lack of setulae on the disc of scutellum rules out Hydrophoria which also have plumose arista. The last two photos are the correct colour, but the first two are vey grey, which indicates that one can't go by colour in photos. |

The first photos were made with flash, the last without. It is true, that with flash the colours are often not exact, but without it the pictures are mostly very unsharp because of the needed long light exposure times (I am photographing freehanded, and the sun stood already rather low yesterday afternoon).
