Thanks Juergen for family name. Looked in the Gallery and Opomyza germinationis (which is on my Checklist) appears to be the one. Maybe J.W. will confirm?

Hi Roger,

This is indeed a female of Opomyza germinationis. Can you give me more details on the collecting site (my garden on the Shetland Isles is a bit vague for meSmile).

Hello Jan Willem
What info about the site do you require?
Fly was resting on my greenhouse wall, then walking around in circles VERY slowly. Not much greenery in the vicinity as we had a bit of wind(70-80MPH) go through here about a week ago. Garden is a bit like The Somme at the moment. I've attached a map of the location if that helps. I think the Grid Ref. is right.

Hi Roger,
Thanks for the information. What I meant about the site info was, Name of the town in which your found the specimen. The map you attached will do fine!
