This week I found several larva in my garden near a wetland in Brussels (Belgium), 15 mm in length, several species on Ribes, 1 on Rosa Canina and 1 on Prunus padus. They hardly move but the day after they are gone. It seems that they are transparant in the beginning and then become brown afterwards.

When I compare the images in Rotheray's key to larvae with these images, I would say the left one is Meligramma triangulifera (or whatever genus it is placed in nowadays) and the right a species of Syrphus (ribesii?).
