Hello! Any chance to tell from these angles, whether this is not Calliphora vicina? It was very large (13-14 mm) and dark. Found today in our wintergarden (northwest Germany). Hello, Robert! Robert Heemskerk wrote: why not a big female? Calliphora vicina I thought even from these unfavourable angles there should be visible some parts of the more yellowish face (???). I think it is likely to be vicina. Size isn't really relevant in distinguishing the species of Calliphora. It seems to me to have a reddish face in the second image, and the white borders of the calypters seem quite broad. It is probably one of those vicina with a dull coloured anterior spiracle and relatively dark tegula and wing bases.
