Photographed a couple of weeks ago on a rare fine day. Lots of different Bluebottle types on a Hebe Bush. Excuse any duplication.

Roger – it's female and Calliphora, but without a lateral shot, we can't go much further with any certainty. I think it may be one of the less common species, but I can't see the gena and beard properly, nor the anterior spiracle or the lower calypter.

Hi Susan Afraid I didn't get a lateral shot as it flew off in mid-shot and there were so many on the Hebe Bush that I cant be sure if any of the shots I took were of the same type. So I guess its the dreaded C.sp.(F). Regards Roger. |
