I tried to find it's family but can't find it? Frown

size: 4-5mm
place: Amsterdam forest, near water.

really? I must say.., I thought of Tachinidae but it wasn't very 'hairy' and I am not used to see such a little Tachinidae..

Hmm, reminds me of Paracraspedothrix montivaga but I wouldn't like to commit to that ID because I haven't seen them alive ... only floating around in alcohol or on the end of a pin! Grin

I've looked at http://tachinidae.org.uk and there are some picutres of Paracraspedothrix montivaga.

I see it got also these white patterns on the thorax and abdomen.
