Photographed at Scatsta Airport at the end of last year. Don't know how they manage to fly?

There are a few brachypterous cranefly species in the UK, this one looks a good candidate for Tipula (Savtshenkia) pagana.

In Alan Stubbs' 1992 cranefly atlas there are records scattered througout Britain, inclduing one dot for Shetland Wink
