Hello to all,
is this male Tabanidae to be determined by these pictures? Size between 25 and 30mm. It was walking around on the asphalt and tapped the ground by its forelegs, sometimes flying a short distance in between.
For the genus I suggest Tabanus, but which species?

Location: Germany, South East Bavaria, close to Traunstein

Greetings
Rupert

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
