Hi,

This is the first fly that I have pinnedSmile. Can you confirm this is Linnaemya?
The Tachinidae keys that I know about reach just to the genera. Are there keys reaching the species level?

Certainly looks like Linnaemyia but I don't think we can go much further - especially in southern Europe. Sad

I would start with the 2 modern works:
* The Central European Key (Tschorsnig & Herting, 1994), available in English from my website but doesn't really cover the south of Europe
* The Palaearctic key (Tschorsnig & Richter) in the Manual of Palaearctic Diptera, which will take you to genus

Theo might know some more Smile

Thank you Chris, I already had discovered that two works in your site. I was looking for one that could lead me to the species.

Theo might know - but he always says dark Linnaemyia like this are hard to identify, especially in the south. Sad

I hope Theo knows. A collection with almost no fly identified would have less value.Sad

LOLSmile.

I want to learn how to extract the genitalia from a fly. Is there any guide on-line showing how to do this?
