Hello! Because of the size (10 mm+) I first thought this was a Polietes male, but on a closer look this must be Muscina sp.. I am not sure about the species. M. levida is normally much smaller here. Found on Sept-18 at a hedge, northwest Germany. 960x960 picture (86 KB): http://www.foto-u...0mm_M2.jpg Juergen Peters attached the following image: [50.19Kb] Edited by Juergen Peters on 20-09-2008 21:56 Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Hello, Stephane! Stephane Lebrun wrote: Right again (Muscina levida). That surprises me (although the complete dark colouration - except scutellum tip - suggests this species), because M. levida is mostly the smallest of the Muscina species here. I have never seen such a big one. Thanks one more time! It is given for 6-9 mm. A superior size can happen (this one as well eaten ).
