Could just see the silhouette of this fly under a Sycamore branch in my garden. One shot with flash and it disappeared. About 5-6mm in length. Any ID possible from this photo?

genus Tephrochlamys Loew . Probably T. flavipes if subcostal cell in the basal half darkened (but not visible  )Andrzej |

Hi Andrzej I have one from genus Tephrochlamys on my checklist for Shetland (which may not be complete), and that is T.rufiventris. Possible? Regards Roger |

Should be T. rufiventris ( by T. flavipes first flagellomere is paler in colour) Andrzej |
