I would appreciate if you could help me with this one too. It was quite large, aprox. 1 cm. Shot at 1800 masl in sunny mountain slope on some type of apium family plant with very small flowers. 03/08/2008 Thanks, Guillermo. Guillermo Booth Rea attached the following image: [135.39Kb] |

any chance of a lateral head shot ? It looks quit Dexiini, in which case Zeuxia sicardi comes in mind. Which is very rare indeed. Did you collect it ? Theo |

I did not collect it. In general I go quite light weighted. This is the closest I can get to a lateral head shot. I will try to be more carefull next time with the orientation of the shots. Guillermo Booth Rea attached the following image: [141.07Kb] |

Yes, that is true. I should probably start to carry some bottles for capture and some type of net. The thing is that most of the photos I do during my work as a geologist in the field so I normally also have to take a hammer. |

Thanks Theo. Does that mean that we do not have the family? Next time, at least I will try to breathe deep and try to dedicate some more time to some lateral head shots. |

Family is Tachinidae and Theo thought it was possibly from the tribe Dexiini |
