Liriomyza flaveola - a very common species in Finland. It is easy to identify by the combination of yellow antenna & scutellum (but black mesonotum), black femora with yellow knees, and anepisternum at least 1/2 yellow, with the bristle on yellow ground.

Thank You, now I can ID one more species Grin They promised hard rain and thunder for tomorrow, so I will go through my Agromyzidae and label all flaveola specimens.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
