I like the picture because is nice but I would prefair very much that this fly let me take also a "normal" pic for see the wing venation. Unfortunately it don't let me. So, maybe the genus can't be recognizable, but I try it. Two days ago. Anz?nigo, Huesca, NE Spain, 600 meters. Small: about 7 mm long (without proboscis). Can be identified? Thanks. seems to be Systoechus sp. but I'm not confident. Wish to see the wing venation. |

what is the difference between Dischitus and SYstoechus? I suppose that the former is very whitish with a milky appearance?? And with a longer proboscis. Is it right? |

Dischitus- head broader, laterotergite bare, r-m well beyond m-cu Systoechus- head nattower than thorax, laterotergite haired, r-m and m-cu at same level. biro and senex are pale grey species, the common Systoechus is a yellow fly (usually-they can fade) |
